More Photos Coming
We're adding more photos to document the full history of this building. Check back soon.
Just three years before Elvis Presley recorded his first album, this building was completed and began its life as a gas company on Lucibill Road in Memphis, Tennessee.
The building transitioned to use as a church — during which time the iconic red carpet and wood paneling were installed. These elements served as the backdrop for many notable moments.
Master Kang Rhee occupied the building as a karate dojo — and Elvis Presley became his student here, training in Pasaryu Karate and filming segments for his planned film, "The New American Gladiators."
Following Kang Rhee's time, the building returned to use as a church for several years.
The property was subdivided and assigned the current address: 3217 Lucibill Road, Memphis, TN 38116.
The property was acquired and Spa Guy began the meticulous restoration of the building to its 1974 appearance — honoring its remarkable history and connection to Elvis and the martial arts world.
The TigerMan Karate Dojo & Museum proudly reopened to the public, giving fans from around the world the chance to walk where Elvis walked and experience this historic piece of American pop culture.
